Georgetown University Public Health

The Office of Public Health coordinates policies, guidance and actions to protect the health and safety of the Georgetown University community.

About the Office of Public Health

The Georgetown University Public Health team monitors public health conditions on Georgetown’s campuses, as well as local, national and global public health developments; keeps updated on CDC and DC Health recommendations and provides guidance to the university community, as needed; provides information on resources such as testing and vaccination; and assists with navigation of university policies and resources related to health. These services do not replace specific medical care that individuals may need.

Students, faculty and staff can find information on the Office of Public Health website related to infectious diseases (including measles, mpox, COVID-19, other respiratory illnesses and viral gastroenteritis), environmental health concerns (such as extreme heat and outdoor air quality), vaccine clinics and naloxone, an over-the-counter life-saving medicine that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.

If you are having a medical emergency, please call the Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Service (GERMS) at (202) 687-4357 if you are on campus, or 911 if you are off campus. Currently, GERMS only serves the Hilltop Campus and nearby neighborhoods (see GERMS boundaries). If on the Capitol Campus, please dial 911. Please contact the Public Health team at publichealth@georgetown.edu if you have any questions or need assistance. This email is monitored during regular business hours.
