Vaccine Clinics

Overview

Each year, beginning in the fall, the Office of Public Health partners with the Georgetown HR Benefits and Wellness team and Safeway Pharmacy to offer vaccine clinics to the Georgetown community. Vaccine clinics take place at both the Hilltop and Capitol campuses.

Available Vaccines

At our on-campus clinics, you will be able to get your annual flu vaccination, including the high-dose flu vaccine recommended for individuals 65 and older and the RSV vaccine, as well as the 2025-26 COVID-19 vaccine. You will also be able to get other common vaccinations, such as shingles, pneumonia, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough (Tdap), hepatitis A and B, meningococcal A, C, Y, W135, meningococcal B and HPV. Please consult with your healthcare provider or pharmacist to determine which vaccinations are right for you.

Health Insurance Coverage

Please note that you will need to provide your health insurance information at the vaccine clinics. Most health insurance plans cover the seasonal flu vaccine at no cost. Regardless of your insurance plan, the flu and COVID-19 vaccines will be available at no cost to you at our on-campus clinics. However, you will be responsible for covering co-pays or costs associated with any vaccines other than flu and COVID-19.

For staff and faculty covered under a Georgetown University-sponsored health plan, you can learn more about getting your vaccine on the following websites:

For students enrolled in Georgetown University Student Health Insurance (SHI), please present your health insurance ID card.

Scheduling a Vaccination Appointment

You can schedule your vaccination appointment on the Safeway Pharmacy website by following the steps below:

  1. On the “Vaccine Scheduler” landing page, click “Proceed to Booking.”
  2. On the next page, enter your date of birth and zip code, and click “Continue.”
  3. Select the vaccine(s) that you wish to receive, and click “Continue.”
  4. Select the vaccine clinic location, date and time for your appointment, and click “Continue.”
  5. Enter your personal information, and click “Continue.” (Note: You will be asked a number of required questions. This information is for Safeway Pharmacy’s use as part of regulatory reporting and will not be shared with Georgetown University.)
  6. Review your personal information and appointment details, including location, date and time, and provide your immunization consent. Click “Submit” when you are finished, and you will receive a confirmation email.
  7. Please bring your GOCard and health insurance cards to your appointment. A digital copy of your insurance card is acceptable.

Walk-ins are accepted on a limited basis; however, we may ask you to return at a later time during the day if it’s busy. Vaccines are stocked based on appointments, so vaccine availability is not guaranteed for walk-ins. If you scheduled an appointment time and missed it, you can still stop by and get vaccinated while the vaccine clinic is open. If you can no longer attend your originally scheduled appointment, you can reschedule for a different date and time using the provided scheduling link. There is no need to cancel your initial appointment.
